McLintocks Continues to Expands
It has been revealed today that two Chester practices are to join forces to create one of the largest independent firms of Chartered Accountants in the City.
Jeffcott’s Chartered Accountants, based at St John’s Court, is to become part of McLintocks Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, based at Chester Business Park. Jeffcott’s principal, Alastair Jeffcott, will become a Partner in McLintocks.
The well-established Chester business has had a record breaking year despite the recession and this latest merger will see McLintocks develop further.
“This is exciting news for both McLintocks and Jeffcott’s and comes at a crucial time in our development,” said John McLintock, who founded the firm 26 years ago with partner Mike Caputo.
“Our business is going from strength to strength, despite the tough economic times, and we look forward to Alastair and his team being a part of that growth.”
In the past 12 months, McLintocks has merged with Blease Lloyd of Birkenhead, recruited new staff, including Tax Manager Jeanette Cosgrove, and now employs more than 50 people.
“This merger fits so well with both parties,” said Alastair Jeffcott, who’s 47 and lives in Mold.
“We share the same business philosophy, value our clients and always try to bring the personal touch to our work. I’m looking forward to a great partnership.”
A past chair and treasurer of the Chester & North Wales branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Alastair qualified in 1985 and became a manager at Deloitte in London before moving North in 1989.
He was a partner at Chester firm Tollit and Stockton until 2004 when he launched Jeffcott’s Chartered Accountants. He is also the current treasurer of Mold Rugby Club.
New Tax Manager Jeanette Cosgrove joins McLintocks from a well respected city centre firm where she has spent 20 years developing her specialist experience in personal tax.
“Her experience will help us offer the best possible client service and fulfil our goal of becoming the advisor of choice for entrepreneurial and managed businesses in the area,” said John McLintock.
